Muhammad bin Qasim was a Muslim general from the Arab who at the age of nineteen-year-old captured the kingdom of Sindh in the southern part of the modern Pakistan during the early part of the eighth century AD when competence was the order of the day in the Umayyad Caliphate. This meant the beginning of the Muslim era in the history of South Asia; thus, this position was seen as his campaign. Here are some key points about Muhammad bin Qasim and his conquest:Allow me, therefore, to give you a brief on Muhammad bin Qasim and his conquest.

Background:

Muhammad bin Qasim al-Abbas ibn al-Walid alternatively known as Muhammad bin Qasim, was an Arabic Umayyad general credited for a military expedition to Sindh in early 711 CE to subdue the Hemipteran insurrection Sindh was a part of region of dominant Hindus and Buddhists of the Indian Subcontinent.

Conquest of Sindh:

Hence, there was the Bin Qasim campaign which was efficient, and the local rulers nervously discovered that they had been soundly vanquished! He also extended initial Muslim en-trance into the subcontinent and Islamization of the region beginning with him.

Administration:

All this was achieved through Proper administration in the conquered territories which was established by Bin Qasim and the issuance of edict for Muslims and non-Muslim to pay allegiance to the Islamic empire. Because his reign involved the implementation of the stability policies, as well as connecting the region to the Islamic caliphate.

Impact:

If this was the role of Muhammad bin Qasim in history, then it was the beginning of the coming of the light of Islam to the South East Asia. The first muslim invasion was thus, helpful in effect, in preparing the way for the other muslim invasions and, also, in establishing the basis of the empire of muslim dynasties like the Ghaznavids and the Delhi Sultanate.

Legacy:

Analyzing social and political lineage of Arab and South Asian representation for Muhammad bin Qasim, he is sheltered in the military and administration sector. His conquest is viewed differently by different perspectives: As some people think it was built during the period of Islamization others find this informational source as the sign of the beginning of Muslims’ dominion over the territories including India in particular.
